Nine months ago, we launched a project on GlobalGiving to support families of cancer patients. The number of families who have contacted us continues to grow and now numbers in the hundreds. However, not all clients need long-term care; approximately 2/3 of them only need advice on where to go or what to do, and do not need to use the full capacity of our multidisciplinary team. The biggest demand is for social work, particularly for advice on disability pensions and personal independence payments, where there is a 300% increase on last year. This is very specific consultation at the interface between social work and medicine. Amelie is the only organisation that can provide this type of service in the Czech Republic. But nutritional therapists and psychologists are also almost at capacity. We are now looking for psychologists and therapists who can join our team and help us fulfill our mission. After two intensive training sessions in April, new volunteers have joined our prorgam. They took place in Prague and Olomouc. We are planning another training in September. Thank you to all donors for their support! The project is facing some changes, such as increased demand for our services and changes in the team, but this is not a problem for our experienced coordinators and management. The project is making good progress and targets for the number of anticipated clients will be coming soon
