Since June 2025, Amelie has continued to provide comprehensive, free psychosocial support to adults living with cancer and their loved ones across the Czech Republic. A cancer diagnosis does not bring only medical challenges – it also brings fear, uncertainty, emotional strain and social difficulties. Our mission is to stand beside people in these difficult moments and help them find stability, orientation and hope.
Every day, we offer psychological counselling, social counselling, nutritional and physiotherapy consultations, support groups and individual assistance. Our Centers in Prague, Liberec, Olomouc, Hradec Králové and the Central Bohemian Region provide safe spaces where people can find professional guidance as well as human understanding and dignity. Our trained volunteers regularly visit oncology wards, bringing conversation, encouragement and small gestures of kindness directly to patients’ bedsides.
A key part of our work is the Amelie Helpline, available throughout the Czech Republic. Anyone facing cancer – patients or their family members – can reach out and receive support, information and a safe space to share fears and practical concerns. The Helpline helps people process the shock of diagnosis, navigate next steps and connect with further professional support. In moments of uncertainty, it ensures that no one has to face cancer alone.
Alongside direct services, we continued our online channel of live educational lectures and discussions, accessible nationwide. Between June 2025 and February 2026, we addressed a wide range of important topics, including:
Lymphatic system and skin health
Non-healing wounds
Psychosomatic aspects of kidney tumors
Inflammation under control – natural pathways to balance
Lung cancer: myths, reality and hope
Psychosocial aspects of lung cancer
Hemato-oncological diseases
Aids and tools for self-sufficiency
Breast cancer – prevention and self-examination
Neuropathy related to cancer treatment
Living with testicular cancer
Men under pressure: coping with stress and asking for help
Genetics in oncology
An international online session
Christmas reflection
Low-residue diet in digestive tract diseases (January 2026)
In September 2025, we presented Amelie’s work at public events such as SPORT X-PERIENCE and the Social Fair in Prague 8 + Prague 10 raising awareness about the importance of psychosocial support in cancer care.
On September 20, 2025, we organized “Petra’s Run for Amelie” at the Mšeno Reservoir in Jablonec nad Nisou. The 3.3 km route welcomed runners, walkers and families. The event was not about speed, but about solidarity. It also paid tribute to Petra Kuntošová, who devoted many years of dedicated work to leading the Liberec Center. The gathering reminded everyone that when cancer enters life, community and support matter deeply.
On October 26, 2025, the Northumbria Chamber Choir from the United Kingdom performed a concert for Amelie at the Church of St. Thomas in Prague. The evening was filled with music, connection and shared hope.
During the Advent season, the Friends of Amelie Choir – open to clients, volunteers and supporters – performed several concerts, including at the Community Centre Kampa and in Prague 10. Singing together brought joy and a sense of belonging during a time that can be emotionally challenging for many patients and families.
In January 2026, Amelie joined the international World Cancer Walk movement. Many groups across the Czech Republic participated alongside us, expressing solidarity with everyone affected by cancer and highlighting the importance of psychosocial care as an essential part of comprehensive cancer support.
We are now fully preparing Tulip Month in hospitals. With the arrival of spring, we want to bring hope to oncology wards. Children and young people from schools are creating pictures, cards and small gifts that will decorate hospital departments and reach patients directly. These simple gestures carry a powerful message: even in the most difficult moments, there is care, connection and hope.
Thanks to your support, we continue to help people not only survive cancer, but live life with it – with courage, dignity and hope.
