Support for Crisis in Lebanon

Thank you for your support of this project, I'm writing to share an update on ActionAid's work in Lebanon.

ActionAid Arab Region (AAAR) continues to provide humanitarian assistance across Lebanon, helping communities meet immediate needs and reduce reliance on negative coping mechanisms amid continued uncertainty and displacement. By May 2026, the response reached 18,523 people across Tripoli, Koura, Zgharta, Saida, Mount Lebanon and the Bekaa region, with support focused on food security, essential household items, hygiene and protection. Assistance included ready-to-eat and dry food parcels, non-food items, hygiene kits, mattresses, blankets and pillows, as well as dignity kits for women and girls to address specific personal care and protection needs.

Overall, 3,196 kits and 771 food parcels were distributed at the time, including 1,441 ready-to-eat baskets, 900 NFI kits, 855 hygiene kits, 500 ready-to-eat food parcels and 271 dry food parcels. The response has reached 11,105 people through food security and nutrition support, 1,400 through shelter and NFI assistance, and 5,609 through WASH interventions.

Looking ahead, ActionAid plans to provide additional food and non-food assistance to newly displaced families while continuing its broader humanitarian response across Lebanon.
