Gaza is enduring a severe humanitarian crisis following the recent devastating war. Thousands of families have lost their homes, and access to basic necessities like food and clean water has become a daily struggle. As Ramadan approaches, families face the heartbreaking reality of being unable to provide iftar and suhoor meals. This project aims to distribute essential food baskets and hot iftar meals to help vulnerable families observe Ramadan with dignity and nourishment.
The destruction caused by the war has left Gaza's infrastructure in ruins, disrupting food supply chains and causing food prices to soar. Many families, especially those who lost their homes, lack access to basic nutrition. Markets and supply centers have been severely damaged, making it difficult to source food at affordable prices. With Ramadan approaching, the need for urgent food assistance grows, as families struggle to secure even one meal a day.
Our project will provide immediate food relief by distributing food baskets containing essentials such as rice, lentils, flour, sugar, and oil. Each food basket, costing $90, is designed to sustain a family throughout Ramadan. In addition, we will prepare and distribute hot iftar meals daily, with individual meals costing $5 and family-sized meals at $20. By working with local suppliers and volunteers, we will reach the most affected communities, prioritizing widows, orphans, and displaced.
Providing food assistance during Ramadan not only addresses immediate hunger but also fosters resilience and hope among affected families. This project will enhance community well-being, ensuring that vulnerable families can focus on rebuilding their lives instead of struggling for their next meal. Additionally, strengthening local food distribution networks will contribute to long-term food security and economic stability in Gaza.
