Melinda's journey commenced in a humble village nestled within the Guizhou Province. Recognizing her exceptional potential, she was granted the prestigious SOAR Scholarship in 2016, marking the beginning of her educational ascent as she embarked on high school in Fuquan City. Fueled by an unwavering passion for mathematics, Melinda continued to excel, ultimately securing admission to the Mathematics Department at Qiannan Normal university for Nationalities within Guizhou.

Her coursework kindled a fervor for coding and mathematical modeling, culminating in a noteworthy project – an automated cafeteria ordering system. This fusion of computational modeling and mathematics prompted her to venture into the International Mathematical Contest in Modeling and her team was among the successful participants for this competitive event.
