At SOAR, we're overjoyed to share the incredible journey of every girl we support, knowing that each success story not only changes her life but also has the potential to uplift countless other village girls. Your generosity has an amazing power to multiply these opportunities and fuel the dreams of promising talents. In this report, we're thrilled to introduce you to Andrea, a young woman from rural Xunhua, Qinghai, who is pursuing her studies in traditional Chinese medicine and is on her way to becoming a doctor.

Andrea's story began in a single-parent household, where financial struggles were a constant challenge. Despite facing tough times, Andrea never lost her determination. She remembers the darkest moments when she considered giving up college to support her family. It was during this critical time that Andrea found hope through SOAR, which became a turning point in her life's journey.

After five years of hard work and dedication, Andrea successfully completed her studies with the invaluable support of the SOAR Scholarship program, tailored for students like her pursuing Traditional Chinese Medicine. She wants to extend her heartfelt gratitude to all the donors whose kindness provided her with the opportunity to continue her education, completely changing her life's trajectory.

Reflecting on her unexpected path into Chinese medicine, Andrea credits SOAR for guiding her way. Introduced to the SOAR Traditional Chinese Medicine Scholarship Program by a caring volunteer who served in the candidate search committee of SOAR, Andrea embraced this opportunity, ultimately discovering her passion for Chinese medicine and finding fulfillment in serving her community.

Despite the hurdles she faced, Andrea's love for her profession only grew stronger. She found comfort in the profound impact Chinese medicine had on her community, bringing healing and hope to those in need. Andrea is grateful to SOAR not only for the financial assistance but also for the unwavering support and encouragement she received from volunteers, reminding her that she was never alone in her journey.

In her heartfelt video speech during SOAR’s 28th Anniversary Gala, Andrea extends her deepest thanks to every donor and volunteer, emphasizing the incredible impact of their collective efforts in shaping her life and instilling within her a sense of purpose and dedication to serving society. As she stands before the SOAR community, Andrea's words serve as a powerful reminder of the transformative power of education and compassion.

As SOAR enters its 29th year, Andrea's story stands as a shining example of the profound impact of scholarship programs in nurturing dreams, inspiring aspirations, and changing lives. We invite you to join us in continuously supporting SOAR's mission to envision a future where young girls from remote villages are guided towards academic excellence and empowerment. Together, we sow the seeds for a world where dreams know no bounds, and every deserving individual has the opportunity to soar to unprecedented heights.
