Participants: 5 Palestinians, 3 Jews
Theme: Forgiveness and Atonement
Venue: Swedish Theological Institute
We started with a round of introduction in which participants presented themselves, including what they do in life.
Then Raed explained atonement in Islam, which includes remorse and prayer. We asked about the possibility of atonement in the national sense and Raed explained the complexity of things.
Later Dan explained about atonement in Judaism (based mainly on Maimonides) – first between human and God and then between human and fellow humans.
When the encounter ended, the Palestinians went to Al Aqsa Mosque and the Jews went each his way.
The encounter was especially interesting and successful.
