Dear Friends of The Solidarity Project,

Can you believe it is already July?! We hope that you and your loved ones are enjoying the summer.

The Solidarity Project has had a strong start in 2024! Thanks to our incredible team and our amazing project director, Melisa, we have been able to support Honduran leaders across our partner communities in dreaming, designing, and implementing their community development projects.

One of our community leaders, Nataly, organized her community of Coa Abajo to install windows at the local school. This project not only improved the quality of the children's educational experience but also contributed to Nataly's own leadership development. Nataly shares, “I used to be afraid of public speaking, but working with The Solidarity Project has given me the confidence to lead my community in creating change. Thank you to The Solidarity Project for empowering women – we often don’t believe that we can be leaders, but this experience has taught me that we can!” Nataly's leadership skills also enabled her to garner additional support for making needed repairs to the school cafeteria, purchasing a sound system, and setting up a watering system for the outdoor space.

We are also thrilled to announce that we have partnered with a new community, El Carrizal, which approached The Solidarity Project to become one of our community partners. We are excited to support the development of community leader Jomer in spearheading the community’s efforts to build a pedestrian bridge. This bridge will allow safe crossing during the rainy season, ensuring that children can safely get to school and community members can get to work.

These are just a few examples of the many projects and leaders we support in Honduras. Thank you for being a part of creating change!
