Dear Friend of The Solidarity Project,
Happy fall! Amidst all the challenges in the world, we’re excited to bring you some great news about the difference you are making in Honduras!
Supporting Community Pride and Culture:
This year, we partnered with a new community, El Carrizal, to fund the local school band. Music brings people together, and we’re thrilled to support this creative outlet for students.
In El Tule, the community recently unveiled its town letters, funded by The Solidarity Project. These vibrant letters mark the entrance to the town, offering a welcoming gathering space and celebrating local pride. This project exemplifies our commitment to fostering thriving communities where residents feel a deep sense of ownership and pride.
Connecting and Collaborating for Greater Impact:
Last month, our Project Director, Melisa, and Board President, Lauren O'Neill, attended the Opportunity Collaboration conference in Guatemala. This gathering brought together nonprofits from around the world working on pressing global issues like poverty. Melisa shared how proud she is of The Solidarity Project’s approach—working directly with local leaders to create the change they envision. In contrast to many nonprofits struggling to secure aligned funding, we’re able to channel support exactly where communities need it most. Our model of community-driven development is truly unique.
Looking Ahead:
Next week, our board will gather in Honduras for our annual retreat. We’re excited to reconnect, meet with our partner communities, and work together to strengthen our mission and vision. We look forward to sharing more updates with you soon.
Thank you for your continued support. None of this would be possible without you!
Warm regards,
Jean, Rosi, Carolyn, Lauren, Melisa, and Deborah
