Young Visionary Leaders Ghana (YVLG) continues its commitment to fostering a love for reading and storytelling among children in public schools across Ghana. While this reporting period saw limited implementation of new literacy activities due to funding constraints, our focus remains steadfast: to help students discover the joy of reading through fun, engaging, and interactive experiences.
The “Read and Narrate Literacy Program” is designed to nurture a lifelong passion for reading, strengthen confidence, and encourage creativity in primary school students. Through collaborative activities, children are inspired to read aloud, share stories, and express ideas in English, helping to develop vocabulary, comprehension, and expressive communication skills.
We are thrilled to report that past participants of the program are excelling, mastering the art of public speaking, and demonstrating impressive confidence and communication skills. Many of these young learners are now actively applying their storytelling abilities in school settings and beyond, showing the lasting impact of the program.
Looking ahead, YVLG plans to reintroduce interactive reading activities, storytelling competitions, teacher training workshops, and Mobile Reading Hubs to reach more children, especially in underserved and rural communities. Efforts will also focus on integrating digital storytelling tools to make literacy accessible for children with disabilities and engaging parents and communities through school literacy fairs.
YVLG remains deeply grateful to our donors, educators, and volunteers whose support continues to fuel this mission. Together, we remain committed to inspiring Ghana’s next generation of readers, storytellers, and confident young leaders.
