We are excited to inform about the CREMA-Health, a groundbreaking African-led research initiative that brings together talented scientists and researchers from Zimbabwe, Zambia, Burkina Faso, Rwanda, and Sweden. This collaborative effort aims to address pressing health challenges that disproportionately affect vulnerable populations throughout the African continent, with a focus on developing sustainable, locally-appropriate solutions.
Interdisciplinary team is developing culturally-appropriate and environmentally sustainable health solutions by investigating several interconnected areas: environmental pollutants and their health impacts, medicinal plants with therapeutic potential, innovative water purification technologies using local materials, and complex nutrition-environment interactions that affect immune function and disease susceptibility.
The results of this research initiative will have a positive long-term affect on activities in our supported laboratories in Burkina Faso and Zimbabwe
