Amid the severe collapse of Gaza’s healthcare system, thousands of patients face enormous difficulty obtaining the essential medicines they need. Shortages of medical supplies, rising medication costs, and the loss of family incomes have made treatment unaffordable for many vulnerable patients.
In response to this urgent need, we continued supporting a pharmacy located in northern Gaza to provide medicines free of charge to patients who could not afford them. The project served patients from different vulnerable groups, particularly elderly people, children, and women who require essential treatments to protect their health and relieve their suffering.
Patients arrive at the pharmacy carrying medical prescriptions, but many do not have enough money to purchase their medication. Through this project, available medicines are provided at no cost according to each patient’s medical needs and prescription. This intervention has enabled patients to continue their treatment instead of being forced to stop because of severe financial hardship.
For elderly patients, access to medication may help control chronic illnesses and prevent serious health deterioration. For children, treatment may relieve pain and reduce the risk of complications. For women and mothers, receiving medicine provides reassurance during a time of overwhelming pressure and responsibility.
We sincerely thank all donors who helped sustain this project. Because of your support, vulnerable patients can receive the medicines they need free of charge and preserve their health and dignity during these exceptionally difficult circumstances.
