Hot Meals Reach Displaced Families and Orphaned Children in Abu Jumaiza Camp

By AMAL ALUMMA ORGANIZATION INC | project Leader

Amid the harsh humanitarian conditions faced by displaced families in the Gaza Strip, our teams continue implementing food-relief projects to meet the daily needs of the most vulnerable households. We prepared and distributed hot meals to displaced families living in Abu Jumaiza Camp in the Deir Al-Balah area, northern Gaza Strip, including orphaned children facing extremely difficult circumstances.

Families inside the camp are living in tents and temporary shelters that lack the most basic necessities after losing their homes, livelihoods, and stability. With continued food shortages, rising prices, and limited access to fuel and cooking facilities, preparing a daily meal has become a major challenge, especially for families caring for orphaned children without a stable source of income.

In response to this urgent need, our team prepared hot meals and distributed them directly to families inside the camp, prioritizing orphaned children, widows, elderly people, and the most vulnerable households. These meals provided warm, ready-to-eat food to families that could not afford to purchase ingredients or prepare meals themselves.

For orphaned children and displaced families, the meals were more than food to relieve hunger. They were a message of care and solidarity and a reminder that they are not alone during these difficult circumstances. The distribution also eased some of the daily pressure faced by mothers and caregivers and gave children moments of warmth and comfort amid fear and deprivation.

We sincerely thank all donors who supported this project. Because of your generosity, we were able to deliver warm meals and hope to displaced families and orphaned children in Abu Jumaiza Camp and stand beside them at a time when they need support most.
