Agricultural Project
This quarter, library members participated in a hands-on agricultural project, eagerly planting seeds and nurturing seedlings as they learned about farming. Working together around library tables, the kids discovered the joy of growing their own food and connecting with traditional agricultural practices. This fun, interactive project perfectly showcased how our community library serves as more than just a place for books—it's a vibrant community space where learning comes alive through exciting, real-world experiences!
New Book Corner
We've created an exciting new themed book corner to make it easier for children to find stories that support educational growth and spark their interests! The colorful display features carefully organized sections including "Cultura Ixil" (Ixil Culture), "Cultura Latina" (Latin Culture), "Emociones" (Emotions), and "Carrera" (Career), allowing children to navigate our collection independently and encouraging them to explore diverse topics while celebrating both their local Ixil identity and broader Latin American culture.
Repainted Tables!
After repainting the entire library last quarter, the team worked this quarter to spruce up the tables in the library by repainting them with new, culturally relevant, and colorful images!
