Celebrating Entrepreneurship & Empowered futures

By Keturah Shammah | Executive Director

Dear Trusted Partner,

Your partnership with Girls Education Mission International continues to yield extraordinary results, transforming individual lives and building stronger communities. We are delighted to share three deeply moving stories of resilience, determination, and new beginnings from within our GEM family: Lois, Yemen, and Dorcas. These founding girls, who have recently embarked on new chapters through marriage, exemplify the profound impact of your investment.

We recently had the immense joy of celebrating the marriages of Lois, Yemen, and Dorcas. These occasions were not merely celebrations of love, but powerful testaments to their resilience, growth, and the incredible possibilities that unfold when girls are supported. Each of these young women navigated journeys marked by significant challenges that could have easily derailed their education and limited their prospects. Yet, with unwavering determination, invaluable mentorship, and the consistent support made possible by your generosity, they persevered.

Today, Lois stands as a trained pharmacist, driven by the dream of establishing her own pharmacy. Yemen is a thriving entrepreneur with a successful tailoring business, and we were proud to present her with a brand-new sewing machine as a wedding gift to further boost her enterprise. Dorcas, a skilled Business Administrator, received a start-up grant from GEM to scale her existing business center. Their remarkable journeys powerfully illustrate what becomes achievable when girls are given the opportunity, encouragement, and the vital support to remain in school and cultivate belief in themselves.

For us at GEM, these milestones are deeply meaningful. They are vivid reminders that investing in girls creates a ripple effect of long-term impact, extending far beyond academic achievement to foster confidence, dignity, strong decision-making abilities, and the capacity to build fulfilling and purposeful lives. Your support has been instrumental in creating these pathways for Lois, Yemen, and Dorcas, enabling them to pursue their education, overcome barriers, and step into adulthood with greater confidence and boundless opportunity.

Call to Action: While we celebrate these incredible achievements, many more girls face similar struggles and need our help to realize their full potential. We are particularly committed to supporting Lois in establishing her pharmacy, a venture that will not only fulfill her dream but also provide essential services and inspire countless others. Your continued generosity can empower more girls to shape their own futures and celebrate similar life-changing milestones. Please consider a special gift today to help us raise the funds needed to establish Lois's pharmacy, and to provide crucial support for other aspiring young women like Yemen and Dorcas to launch and grow their businesses.

Thank you for being a vital part of our mission to empower girls and transform communities.

Warmly,

The Girls Education Mission International Team
