Project Report | Dec 8, 2025
Library Project for Orphaned Children

By AGIZO JOSUE | CORDINATOR

1. Project Summary

The Support Orphaned Children’s Library in DRCongo project aims to provide orphaned children with a dynamic learning space combining classic literature, educational books, and pedagogical films. This library will become a place where children can read, explore, understand images, develop critical thinking, and broaden their understanding of the world.

2. Context and Rationale

In the Democratic Republic of Congo, many orphaned children lack access to essential educational resources. Their potential is often limited by the absence of adequate learning tools.
This project directly addresses these issues by responding to:

  • the lack of educational infrastructure,
  • the absence of reading and discovery spaces,
  • the need to strengthen children’s creativity, confidence, and future opportunities.

Creating a modern library is a sustainable response to support their intellectual and emotional development.

3. Project Objectives

  • Provide a well-equipped library adapted to the needs of orphaned children.
  • Encourage reading and independent learning.
  • Introduce visual education through educational and cultural films.
  • Foster curiosity, creativity, and understanding of the world.
  • Help break the cycle of poverty and illiteracy.

4. Current Progress

Thanks to the collaboration with GlobalGiving, the project has already raised 50 USD toward the total budget of 5000 USD.
We are currently in a crucial phase:

  • identifying trainers,
  • selecting the first learners,
  • preparing educational materials.

The project is scheduled to begin in November 2025.

5. Budget (simplified overview)

The overall 5000 USD budget will mainly cover:

  • acquisition of books and educational materials,
  • audiovisual equipment,
  • space setup and furnishing,
  • basic compensation for trainers.

(As requested, details remain concise.)

6. Expected Impact

The project will bring:

  • a significant improvement in children’s reading and comprehension skills,
  • sustainable access to a safe educational environment,
  • a stimulating space that fosters self-confidence and expression,
  • a positive community impact by helping shape a more educated and aware generation.

In the long term, the library will become an essential educational pillar, opening opportunities for the children and strengthening their chances for a brighter future.

7. Call to Donors

We extend a sincere call to all individuals, organizations, and partners willing to support a project that truly transforms the lives of orphaned children.
Every contribution brings us closer to making this initiative a reality and gives a child access to essential knowledge.

8. Acknowledgments

We express our heartfelt gratitude to all those who have already contributed, as well as to GlobalGiving for its support.
Your help—no matter the amount—creates a direct and lasting impact on the daily lives of orphaned children in the DRC.
