We are glad to share with you the report from August to November 2025, report for the Hope Alive Foundation (HAF) Charity School in Tiko this November 2025.
The Hope Alive Foundation Academy is a charity school project that serves orphans and vulnerable children from the community. In response to the request made by the proprietor of Hope Alive in October 2024, Reach Out supported the orphanage through the production of birth certificates for children in the sixth grade, as many of them lack this essential document required for registration in public examinations.
From the assessment carried out by Reach Out at the school in Tiko, it was recorded that in a class of 25 pupils, about 18 of them were found not possessing birth certificates. Necessary information was collected by the team from Reach Out alongside the head of the institution.
In total 21 birth certificates were produced by Reach Out NGO and these documents were to ensure the children can register for their examinations (Government Common Entrance and First School Leaving Certificate). Their parents as well as the school expresses their gratitude as many parents had expressed that the burden of obtaining a birth certificate within the short timeframe set by the school is overwhelming, especially considering that the cost of producing one birth certificate is 15,000 FRS ($24.13), in addition to the examination fees.
The school year is progressing well, but there is still a need for a permanent structure and more teachers. Meanwhile, Reach Out is conducting various educational activities under different projects. The school is planning for the Christmas party which will be coming up by the second week of December there at the school campus.
Both schools continue to face challenges that include a shortage of teachers, parents not being able to afford exercise and textbooks for most of the pupils, the schools are also in need for didactic material to facilitate teaching and learning the need for a more permanent structure with bigger classrooms, especially for HAF which is experiencing increasing enrolment each academic year.
As always, Reach Out is grateful to our donors for their continuous support and selfless donations which are keeping these schools running.
