By Mah Diana Foniborg | Orphanage Director
Dear Donors,
Mah Di’s orphanage prepared a report for the month of February, which we could not get to you until now due to the current uncommunication of the South-West and North-West Regions (Internet Blackout). Excuse our delay.
FEBRUARY 2017 ACTIVITIES OF MAH DI’S ORPHANAGE
Dear donors we are very grateful for your kindness you provided for us when need arises. Thank you so much for always extending you lending hands in our direction. Below are some of the activities for the month of February 2017
CHILDREN
The children respected their rotative time table of work. That is house craft,[cutting grass, sweeping and cleaning the surroundings] mother craft, [taking care of the little ones, bathe them, dress them up on Saturdays and Sundays] cleaning and laundry on Saturday and Sundays, secular education [teaching the small children, homework, reading, given the current teachers’ strike, they have organized to make different classes] and moral education. [Religious studies, ethics]
There was a one day workshop on hygiene, self-esteem and knowing God, organized by an association in kumba called SAGAC. It took place at the women and empowerment center. This workshop also enables the children to interact with other children in other orphanages and homes who attended this workshop.
SALES OF CHICKEN
The children were also involved sales of matured chickens at the market. And this was to enable us to buy another 50 day old chicken from the profit we made. They also had some for consumption.
Thank you all, we are progressing in this business because you started it for us.
MEETINGS
A meeting was scheduled by the founder Mah Diane to review the day to day happenings in the structure, to let the children feel free to express their views so that we all can join together to come up with solutions to better handle the difficulties. It was all about reconciliation and the importance of dialogue [a minor conflict had come up among the children, one of the older boys was disrespectful to the elected leader (the children are organized in groups with leaders) but don’t worry it did not get physical and they swiftly reconciled]
SEMINARS
The founder attended one week seminar on how to work with HIV/AIDS patients.
VISITORS
Some visitors like church groups, individuals visited us with food stuff, provisions and beverages during this period.
CONCLUSION
Once more we have joy in our hearts and thanks for your open hands. Donors!! God bless you
P.D: In the next report you will get more news concerning the construction of three more rooms in the school, which will start this May! You helped us raise more than 3000$!!
