Activities at Mah Di’s Orphanage April 2017

Donors, we are so thankful for your support. This has positively changed the face of the centre. You allow many of your activities that would have fetched you extra gain only to turn and listen to our cry, do something and give us a way forward. We appreciate it a lot. Below are the activities that took place in the orphanage.

  • Rotative time table [housework]

This time table was respected by the children.

  • Visit out of the centre

Some rice and soap was donated to some less privileged persons in the community.

  • Visit in the centre

One of the visitors celebrated her birthday in the centre with the children. [This happens sometimes, people like to celebrate with the children]

Some other visitors brought some provisions, food stuffs , clothes, finance etc. for the upkeep of the orphanage.

  • Meetings in the orphanage

This meeting was held to review the lesson at the youth forum attended by the senior children at Mbalangi.

Another meeting with the junior to know how far they are doing with the duty rooster and if there are some difficulties encountered.

  • Agriculture

The founder and children are involved in farm work. Maize, vegetables, cassava etc. were cultivated.

  • Animal Husbandry

The poultry is now increased with 400 birds and two new breed of chickens. The old birds were sold at 3 weeks old.

  • Building

The semi-permanent structure is partially completed. What it needs now to complete are doors and painting.

  • Extension of poultry farm

For this work it was already bought sand, cement and rods.

  • Health

Some of the children were attacked by malaria fever and cough. They were taken to the general hospital for consultation. Drugs were provided by the doctor.

Preventive Health Unit also visited the sick children at the orphanage. Amongst their drugs was worm medicine.

  • Out of the orphanage

Meeting was held with the delegate of social affairs in preparation of the day of the African child celebration for the upcoming 16 June 2017.

Another meeting was held with the meme association of orphanages and homes (MAOH) for the preparation of the above celebration.

  • Education

Part of the money promised by Source du Pays manager, 500.000 frs [about a thousand dollars] was given to ensure the expenditures of some of the senior children in the professional schools.

The nursery / primary children in the orphanage school are progressing with their bookwork.

Some less privileged children around the community are also attending the school. [10]

Conclusion:

Donors we are very grateful. All this achievement is because you gave us your attention.

God bless you all!

[Remember to support the orphanage this Bonus Day, share the project with friends and consider another donation, thank you!]
