By Jose Argueta | Project Leader
Hello friends,
This is a very crazy year because of the Super Niño. The rainy season started later, and many people are facing difficulties with their livelihoods. As a community organization, we are working closely with leaders of the communities to ensure we find ways to reduce the effects of climate variations.
In the case of our sea turtle conservation program, we keep doing activities to ensure the beach is clean. The community leaders are always educating tourists who visit the community to take any trash with them, so the sea turtles nest in clean areas.
About 60 people are working to collect eggs so they can be incubated in the hatchery, where two leaders manage the temperature and check hatchlings after 45-50 days of incubation.
The program also includes beach cleanup activities, so the area around the hatchery looks pretty all the time.
We want to thank the people who are supporting us. At this point, we want to ask for your support so we can meet our goals this year.
Thanks,
