Beit Uri’s in-house bakery workshop meets 5 times a week with over a dozen residents. The cottage industry produces 15 different types sourdough breads (with no added preservatives.) Over 100 clients - neighburs, Beit Uri parents, staff and visitors collect weekly orders and have become enthusiastic Beit Uri bread consumers. In addition special events like weddings and private events have placed orders for 200 loaves -the production of which involves a lot more residents and volunteers living in Beit Uri.
Kiril - as well as being part of the production line, is in charge of stacking and unloading the dish washer, he switches the ovens on and off and his ability to take on responsibilities has enabled him to make sure that all the correct quantities of flour, salt, olive oil are added.
Nir - excels in weighing the ingredients and has learnt how to reset the scales and is responsible for cleaning the working areas.
Irit - so proud to put on her work gloves and baking uniform and is an expert egg cracker and also removes the loaves from the oven.
Marcelle - mastered the cutting and rolling of dough balls, loves to plait the challah loaves and is the ever smiling waitress and saleslady inquiring if the breads are tasty and good.
