Thank you and an Update

By Suranjani Wickremeratne | President

Dear Donor,

We hope this message finds you well.

On behalf of Tarana Foundation, we extend our heartfelt gratitude for your generous support of our Support Urgent Medical Needs of the Needy project. Your kindness and compassion have enabled us to bring much-needed healthcare services to underserved communities that often have limited access to medical care.

We are pleased to share an update on some of the most impactful initiatives carried out through this project during the recent period.

One of our notable activities was a Blood Donation Campaign, conducted in collaboration with the Lions Club of Colombo Host. This initiative brought together community members, volunteers, and well-wishers to contribute towards saving lives by supporting the nation's blood supply. The event highlighted the power of collective action and community service in addressing critical healthcare needs.

Another major milestone was the successful Medical Camp held at Sri Sambuddha Dharma Nikethana Temple in Alayapattuwa, a remote village in the Anuradhapura District. This comprehensive healthcare programme was organized through the collaboration of Tarana Foundation and several partner organizations, all united by a common goal of serving vulnerable communities.

The medical camp provided a wide range of essential healthcare services to more than 300 villagers, many of whom had limited access to regular medical facilities. Services offered included:

  • General medical consultations and health screenings
  • Eye examinations and vision testing
  • Distribution of prescription eyeglasses to those in need
  • Breast cancer screening and awareness programmes
  • Distribution of essential medicines and medical advice

The response from the community was overwhelming. Many beneficiaries expressed their gratitude for receiving healthcare services that had never before been available in their village. For numerous residents, this was the first opportunity to undergo comprehensive medical screening and specialist assessments close to home.

Projects such as these demonstrate the profound impact that donor support can have on the lives of vulnerable individuals and families. By bringing healthcare services directly to remote communities, we help identify health concerns early, improve access to treatment, and enhance the overall well-being of those who might otherwise go without medical attention.

As we continue our mission to support urgent medical needs and improve healthcare accessibility across Sri Lanka, we remain deeply grateful for your generosity and trust. Your contribution is helping us reach communities in need, provide life-changing medical services, and make a lasting difference in the lives of hundreds of people.

Thank you once again for being an invaluable part of this journey and for helping us bring hope, care, and better health to those who need it most.

With sincere gratitude,

Tarana Foundation

"Improving lives through compassionate healthcare, community partnerships, and service to those most in need."
