Cancer patients in Syria face immense humanitarian and health challenges due to the severe collapse of the healthcare system and the critical shortage of oncology medications and specialized treatments. Cancer is a chronic disease that requires continuous care, yet thousands of patients are unable to access life-saving treatment on a regular basis.
The main challenges include frequent shortages of chemotherapy drugs, high costs of medical tests, limited specialized treatment centers, and difficulties in transportation—particularly for patients living in rural or heavily affected areas. Families also bear significant financial and psychological burdens due to the long duration of treatment and the instability of healthcare services.
In response to these urgent needs, Saed Charity implemented humanitarian interventions to support cancer patients and improve their access to essential healthcare. These interventions included contributing to the provision of medications, supporting treatment sessions, and assisting patients who cannot afford the high costs of care.
The organization also placed strong emphasis on psychosocial support, helping patients and their families cope with the emotional impact of the disease. All activities were carried out in accordance with humanitarian standards that respect patients’ dignity and uphold their right to healthcare.
Saed Charity reaffirms its commitment to continuing support for cancer patients in Syria and expanding its health programs. Through sustained humanitarian assistance, the organization seeks to save lives and restore hope for patients and their families as they face this life-threatening illness.
