In one of the modest neighborhoods of Jarabulus, a small town in northern Syria, lives Hala, a seven-year-old girl, with her mother in a tiny house that barely keeps out the wind or cold — but it holds two hearts heavy with loss, and a silence left by war.
Hala lost her father three years ago, and since then, all she knows of him is a faded photo her mother keeps in an old wooden box. Since that day, her mother has stood like a rock against life’s harshness — waking up each morning hiding her tears behind a smile, trying to protect Hala from the weight of absence and need.
Before your support reached them, her mother struggled to provide even the bare minimum — food, warmth, school supplies. But one hand alone cannot do everything, especially when it belongs to a mother with no provider, and a child growing fast — needing safety, clothes, notebooks, even a piece of candy.
Then your sponsorship arrived — not just as a bank transfer, but as an outstretched hand from afar, gently saying to the mother: "You are not alone." And to Hala, even from miles away, it whispered: "Someone cares about you."
Thanks to this sponsorship, Hala began her new school year with new clothes and a colorful backpack filled with notebooks and pencils. She returned to school not with shame, but with excitement — like other children who know that someone, somewhere, believes in them.
Her mother's voice changed too — the tone of constant worry softened. She could finally prepare a warm meal for her daughter and think about tomorrow without fear.
This is not just a sponsorship… it's a message of life.
And in every small detail — from the pencil in Hala’s hand to the blanket that keeps her warm at night — you were the reason her childhood could go on, despite the absence, despite the war.
Thank you for being the family Hala has never seen, but deeply feels.
With heartfelt gratitude,
