Information sessions on sexual and reproductive health rights among vulnerable people mainly refugees and war victims in Camps.
Currently in various war victims camps in Kalemie, Tanganyika Province, there are problems within families especially between men and women. In Kikongo Camp and Lukwangulo transit camp generally women are facing complications during pregnancies and generally all the pregnancies are being removed.
Men are accusing women to terminate the pregnancy and this has created various family problems, while women are saying that they are living in bad conditions that is why pregnancies are not surviving among these conditions include, lack of where to sleep, being affected by Malaria, hunger, worried about the next day, doing heavy works in order to earn a living, drinking water which is not proper and which is the cause of many diseases, but also they do not have access to medical services.
We have been on ground to carry out information sessions and help people to understand certain things, ignorance is one among the problem, but also religious and spiritual belief are always the main problems that are fueling family tensions. We have carried out one information session on sexual and reproductive health right in Kikongo Camp and also one information session in Lukwangulo transit camp.
