Kagumu Development Organization (KADO) appreciates GlobalGiving and partners for the support to the project entitled SUPPORT TO UGANDA'S EBOLA PREVENTION PROGRAM. The funds raised though Partners contributed to prevention of the Ebola Virus Escalation. The situation has normalized and all districts that were put to lockdown were opened and businesses are going on well without death and new infections. Based on this , the Ugandan government and The World Health Organization have declared an end to its Ebola outbreak, less than four months after cases were first reported.This therefore to report to GlobalGiving and partners that we are closing above project since the intended results were achieved and the Barden is no more in Uganda.
ACHIEMENTS ·
1.Conducted 5 community mobilization and awareness sensitization outreached reaching messages to 753 people ·
2. Disseminated awareness messaged to communities using local community radios known as (Kizindalo- 3 events.·
3. The involvement of the International NGOs and the Government of Uganda was very good and really contributed to the reduction of the Virus. ·
4. The local community was responsive to the instructions provided by community health workers and leaders.
CHALLENGES: ·
1. The lockdown affected the economy communities·
2. Education sector was affected since the virus since it was the time end of year examinations. Time for the examinations was not yet but due to the outbreak children were forced to do examinations. 3.
Recommendations
We are closing this project officially since the government declared that Uganda is now Ebola fee country and appreciate partners for support.
