All Hands and Hearts sharing our work helping the residents of Asheville, North Carolina recover from the severe effects of Hurricane Helene. Our vision is to create a community-driven response that not only addresses immediate recovery needs but also strengthens preparedness for future challenges, fostering hope and stability in the wake of Hurricane Helene.

Lake Junaluska Conference & Retreat Center - Base improvements in exchange for group housing
Land of the Sky United Church - Cleanup services
Mountain Project - Housing recovery
Savage Ops - Assembly of water filtration systems
Silverados - Distribution of essential goods
Sylvia’s - Distribution of food and non-food items
Toolbank - Tool sharing
World Central Kitchen - Food prep and distribution
Program Challenges:
Another base move - a disruptive move, but a suitable base in every way except that it puts us further away from the homes in our recovery queue which creates its own challenges
Winter weather - winter 2025 was challenging due to extreme weather including heavy snowfall, freezing temperatures, wildfires, and something we called the “mudpocalypse” when temperatures began to rise.
Our Overall Impact To Date:
