Namaste Brother and Sisters!
I am Priya
I love my sewing centre .
My village is very poor and most are from the Dalit caste but all our welcome of course in our centre we don't care what caste or religion you are.
It's for us women to come together and talk and laugh together and support each other.
But it has a real purpose apart from this..
With the skills we learn we can get a low interest loan and purchase our own machine . Through the centre we are also running a small self help group and we give loans from this group also.
This machine is not for an idle pastime.
With this machine we can earn our own money to use as we please, as our not husband pleases..
This is freedom for us.
We also had a campaign run from our centre which was against child's marriage in our village.
We have stopped it.
I want thank you so much for thinking of us.
Priya, and my fellow sisters
