Support Women's and Girls' Empowerment

In the last 6 months, 170 girls have participated in our empowerment program for girls, and 345 women have participated in our parent support program.

We would like to share the feedback we received from the girls and women who participated in the Empowerment Program;

• When my body grew, I felt like I grew up suddenly. A few months ago, I was playing on the street, but now it's forbidden. My family tells me that I've grown up because of you, but I'm not 18 yet. I'm still a child. Thanks to you, my mother remembered that I am a child.
• I was always scared to ask questions because whenever we did, we got in trouble. They say it's shameful, sinful, or forbidden. I felt like I was committing a crime by asking a question. But at Support to Life, I can ask anything without fear.
• I got my period very late. Before coming to these workshops, I couldn't tell anyone out of fear. My mother is no longer alive, so I couldn't ask her either. After talking to you, I went to the doctor with my aunt. I'm so glad I went. I got answers to all the questions in my mind.
• I realized that my children cannot be well if I am not well, so I need to take care of myself first.
• I want to be there for my child and I want them to be able to come to me and ask questions without any hesitation.

The effects of l disasters particularly affect women and children, making it difficult for them to access their rights, resources, and opportunities. That's why Support to Life's programs for girls' and womens' empowerment are so important. By supporting these projects and spreading the word in your social circles, we can reach more women and girls. This will help make a positive impact in the lives of women and children struggling to cope with the aftermath of disasters.
