Breast cancer is the leading cancer affecting women in Ghana, yet many are diagnosed late and cannot afford treatment. For women from low-income households, the cost of chemotherapy, surgery, transport, and medications becomes an impossible burden. This project provides urgent financial and psychosocial support to women battling breast cancer, helping them access timely treatment and survive.
In Ghana, many women with breast cancer delay or abandon treatment due to financial hardship, fear, and lack of access to care. Transportation to treatment centers, diagnostic tests, chemotherapy, and essential medications are often out of reach. Without support, treatable cases quickly become life-threatening, leaving families devastated and communities affected.
This project removes the main barriers preventing women with breast cancer in Ghana from accessing care: cost, access, and emotional support. It provides direct financial assistance for diagnostics, treatment, medications, and transportation, enabling women to start and complete treatment without interruption.
This project will increase breast cancer survival rates by enabling early and complete treatment for women in Ghana. Over time, it will reduce treatment abandonment, improve quality of life for survivors, and strengthen community awareness of breast cancer. By easing the financial and emotional burden on families and promoting early care-seeking, the project contributes to healthier women, stronger families, and more resilient communities.
