Have A Heart-Mobile uses donations from Animal-Kind International to fill their funding gaps. This means that your support could pay for emergency care (as we've reported on in previous progress reports), spay/neuter of cats (also previously reported on), and most recently, vaccinating all return customers. Cats and dogs spayed/neutered at the HAH mobile clinic are also vaccinated--it's a package--it makes no sense to spend all that time and money to s/n and then not provide protection against the biggest killers of cats and dogs in Namibia, rabies, parvo, distemper.
But what about HAH's old customers, those s/n'd in previous years? They're part of the HAH family; they need to be vaccinated to ensure they're protected; and HAH is the only option for them to get their jabs. So AKI stepped in and we're covering the costs of vaccinations for all return customers.
HAH's Geesche, reported on what your donations have achieved:
September 17-Keetmanshoop
Great, great, great news! Keetmanshoop is a big town with many, many dogs and cats in need of help. Eighty lucky animals were sterilized during the most recent HAH visit. And the great news doesn't stop there! Thanks to Animal-Kind International, 35 'old customers' were given their follow up vaccinations.
September 14-Luderitz
The mobile clinic spent the past 2 days sterilising 60 dogs/cats for the Lüderitz community. Animal-Kind International, you once again made follow-up shots possible for 41 already sterilised dogs/cats through your funding to Have-a-Heart Namibia. Happy results are achieved where communities pull together!
September 11-Bethanie
Today was a hugely successful day making a difference in Bethanie. The mobile clinic sterilised 31 dogs/cats! Another 52 dogs/cats returned for follow-up injections. This was made possible by funding which Have-a-Heart Namibia receives from Animal-Kind International.
Thank you so much to our GlobalGiving donors! These jabs wouldn't have been possible without your support!
