The Iranian government estimates that around 1,000,000 Afghans have crossed the border into Iran since August 2021, creating a massive humanitarian challenge.
Thanks to the contributions of generous donors, Relief International (RI) has been able to support these Afghan refugee families throughout the cold, difficult winter.
In December 2021 and January 2022, RI delivered shipments of essential goods to Afghan families living in camps designated to host new Afghan arrivals in the northeast corner of Iran.
The shipments focused on providing much needed goods for winter, including dry-food items (including beans, grains, cooking oil), hygiene kits, blankets, warm weather clothes, and water boilers.
These goods were desperately needed by the Afghan people living in the camp who had been forced to flee from their home country with few belongings.
Meanwhile, RI also continues to construct and develop new shelters, and new water, sanitation and hygiene facilities for refugee families to use.
Your compassionate investment in our work has never been more important. On behalf of all of us at Relief International, thank you!
Donate now to continue support our life-saving work for Afghan refugees in Iran.
