Nazar came to Türkiye from Afghanistan at the age of 13. When she came to Türkiye in 2008, she says that although there was oppression against women in Afghanistan, it was not as heavy as it is today.
Nazar never went out and played comfortably as a child.
She got married in Türkiye, but owing to the pressure and violence of her husband, she had to divorce when she had a three-month-old daughter. Her own success story begins right here. Divorce was a difficult process, nobody was with her, including her own family, and she couldn't see her daughter for 7 years. Nazar, who is trying to reach her daughter through a legal struggle, completed her education and got her driver's license. She gained her economic freedom and now makes a living by making prosthetic nails.
She chose to work in beauty salons to stay away from male domination. “I have always trusted women more.” says.
Nazar states that she has a lot of dreams, but sometimes she is afraid to dream, and says that all of her dreams is to come together with her daughter.
Nazar had a very difficult time at the beginning of the divorce process and she received both legal and psychological support from SGDD-ASAM.
She thanks all SGDD-ASAM staff and adds that women should definitely get support to be strong during these times.
