Through its Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TEVET) programs, DWAF is helping Deaf individuals move beyond skills development toward sustainable employment and financial independence.
In the last two months alone, 62 Deaf individuals have secured employment through DWAF’s efforts and employer linkages. This is an important beginning and demonstrates what is possible when Deaf people receive the right skills, opportunities, and support.
At the same time, 80+ Deaf youth are currently enrolled in different training programs at DWAF, including digital skills, graphic design, e-commerce, Shopify, AI, and other vocational courses. For many students, these programs are their first step toward employment and financial independence.
DWAF works closely with employers to connect trained Deaf candidates with suitable job opportunities, helping them earn stable incomes, support their families, and live with greater independence and dignity.
Our vision is to take this work much further. With continued support from GlobalGiving and our generous donors, we aim to train and place many more Deaf individuals in decent employment and create lasting pathways from skills to jobs and from struggle to stability.
