The Master of Collage is Me

By Cheer | Children are us Foundation

Ling (name anonymized for case protection) is a seasoned partner at Rose Garden, with a passion for creating collage art. She has the remarkable ability to transform monotonous black-and-white patterns into vibrant masterpieces by carefully pasting colorful paper piece by piece. Earlier this year, her life underwent significant changes when she switched classes. Her previous creative companions were no longer in the same space, and coupled with the passing of her elderly family member, Ling found herself in a prolonged state of low spirits. The once avid collage artist avoided her favorite activity for an extended period, and no matter how instructors and peers tried to encourage her, the pineapple artwork named "Prosperity," lay untouched in a drawer, patiently awaiting Ling.

Persistently encouraged by her instructors, Ling finally opened her long-neglected collage toolkit eight months later. Starting with a modest 20-minute collage session, she gradually progressed to focusing for a full hour. "Prosperity" was finally completed under Ling's meticulous pasting, and she went on to create other works like "Ginkgo," "Cauliflower," "Banana," and more. Throughout this process, instructors observed that the act of concentration and engagement provided relief for Ling's impatience and anger. Moreover, it allowed her love for sharing to find fulfillment. In this positive cycle, Ling's dream of holding another art exhibition is steadily becoming a reality step by step.
