Your Impact
Growing up, Gene* would always resort to violence to solve his problems. At the age of 7, he would talk back and show aggression towards his teachers. By the time he was 11, he has gotten into several physical fights and at 15 he was expelled from secondary school. Soon after, Gene was involved in illegal activities and at 16, he was sentenced to probation at the Singapore Boys’ Hostel—a rehabilitation institution managed by Trybe.
It didn’t take long for Gene to open up with the Trybe staff. He wanted to start anew and turn away from a life of crime. He realised that he didn’t want his anger issues to control his life anymore. To understand and manage his aggressive behaviour, Gene sought help from Trybe’s Growing Resilient Youth in Transition (GRYT) service. Through counselling and intentional activities such as sports and physical training, Gene has been showing huge improvement in managing his emotions.

With your help, we are able to continue our services that provide psycho-emotional support for youths like Gene. Do continue to support our initiatives so that we can reach out to more youths who want to improve their mental well-being and pursue their own success stories.
