Happy Holidays from Bamako!!!! Your ACFA-Mali children are closing the year in prowess!!! 3 of our girls, Diakassan, Kadiatou and Astan received Gold Medals in the Mali Taekwondo Federation competitions. Additionally, 5 of our children passed to the next belt in Taekwondo: Kadiatou, Saley, Bily and Astant obtained blue belt 2nd level and Diakassan obtained red belt. Finally, Diakassan and Korotoumou continue their training with the Mali National League.
In November, ACFA_Mali had the pleasure of hosting members of the American Bar Association, ABA Rules, who were visiting Bamako. They were pleased and according to Betsy: “I was delighted to visit ACFA and see firsthand the difference it is making in these children’s lives.”
This quarter ACFA-Mali also was visited by ACFA’s board member, Alpha, who had the opportunity to visit Zorokoro site as well as spend some time with the children. Alpha stated that: “If all children had the opportunities offered by ACFA, our world would be a much better place; Whenever I see ACFA’s children, I am filled with pride of being part of this wonderful journey, and we won’t rest until the children reach their full potential.
ACFA also received in kind donations from individuals from Mali as well as the US. Leah Henderson and Fatoumata Sissoko both donated food, and school supplies to the children this quarter.
The staff participated in numerous conferences and trainings pertaining to vulnerable children and how to support different facets of their growth and development.
This holiday season, as we close 2016, we take this time to thank you for your ongoing financial and moral support, and to introduce you to our “new beginning”. Indeed, since we have completed phase 1 of Zorokoro Complex, we are ready to select the next set of children the lives of whom you will be changing with your support.
