Support Mali's Vulnerable Children

Greetings from ACFA’s children in Bamako: “School is out, time to turn to our vocational training for the summer!!! And spend more time on our sport activities!!!”

 The children are thrilled that the academic year is over! They enjoyed a successful school year thanks to your continue support. They are now looking forward to a summer full of training opportunities to be barbers, hairdressers, tailors, carpenters, ect… All these activities are only available to them because of you and your support.

 We now have 2 red belts in Taekwondo. In Apr, Koro passed her red belt, and in May Diakassan passed hers. Our 4 children are continuing their taekwondo training with the Malian Junior Taekwondo team. The children also participated in multiple competitive sport events throughout this semester, in Taekwondo, basketball and Fencing, and performed very well. In total they won 4 gold medals, 2 silver medals, 2 Bronze medals and one trophy.

 In school two of our children who were struggling, Astan and Fanta, have made great improvement, and performed extremely well this semester at their new school. The new environment is proving to be very helpful to their success.

 ACFA’s children also enjoyed free entertainment from a comedian group called Yala in May 2017.

 Our staff completed psychology training: staff development like this will improve performance and enhance the support provided to the children.

 The Zorokoro Children Complex is also tracking along very well. The plan is to commence the school building in 2017 and complete it in 2018. You can help us break ground on the school by making a donation today!
