Dear Friend!
As we write this on July 10, 2024 – Day 866 of the war in Ukraine – our hearts are heavy from the atrocious missile attack just two days ago that claimed dozens of lives, wounded many, and destroyed vital civil infrastructure, including the Okhmatdit Children's Hospital in Kyiv.
Once again, we want to express our deepest gratitude to you all for your support of the Ukrainian people during this painful and challenging season of unjust war and for your generous donations that allow us to bring at least some good into the lives of the people suffering from the war outcomes.
Also, we want to be transparent with you: our organization currently receives limited donations for this project, which means we cannot make significant steps at this time. However, we firmly believe that even small acts of kindness and support can significantly impact people's lives.
For our last project, we visited an IDP center in Uzhhorod, Zakarpattia region. We brought household cleaning supplies and hygiene products (toilet paper, soap, cleansing gel, diapers, etc.), which were a significant need. We met with some of the 90 residents who have fled from different regions of Ukraine. Many shared stories of surviving bombings and losing their homes and livelihoods. This IDP center is home to about 90 such IDPs from Kherson, Donetsk, Luhansk, and Dnipro regions. Many of them are from the occupied territories or the frontline areas, and their homes are destroyed.
One gentleman we met was drinking his tea when the bomb hit his house, destroying it and causing multiple severe injuries for the owner, who can barely walk with the crutches now.
While we're grateful for our impact, the need remains great. With your continued support, we aim to expand our reach to more IDP centers and provide additional essential services.
As the saying goes, 'No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted.' Regardless of size, your donations allow us to continue these vital gestures of support. They remind our displaced fellow citizens that they are not forgotten.
Thank you for understanding that even small good deeds can light up someone's world in these challenging times. Together, we're making a difference, one small act at a time.
THANK YOU FOR STANDING WITH UKRAINE!
