Provide clean water for 3000 Tanzanian villagers

Thank you for your continued support of our mission to provide reliable, sustainable access to clean water for the 3,000 Maasai people who depend on the Munga borehole every day.

Although progress has remained slower than we had hoped during this reporting period, the need for this project has not diminished. For much of the year, this borehole remains the community's only dependable source of clean water for drinking, cooking, washing and livestock. Ensuring it can continue operating reliably remains our highest priority.

Over the past few months, we have continued working with local partners to prepare for the next phase of improvements. Our plans remain focused on increasing the site's solar generation capacity by installing additional solar panels, allowing the borehole pump to operate at full capacity throughout the day—even during periods of cloud cover. Alongside this, we continue planning repairs and upgrades to the water storage tanks, distribution network and pipework to improve the reliability and reach of the water supply.

While we have not yet secured the funding needed to begin these upgrades, we have continued supporting local stakeholders in planning for the long-term sustainability of the water system. Strong local management is just as important as reliable infrastructure, ensuring the system can continue serving the community for many years after the improvements have been completed.

The impact of these planned upgrades extends far beyond increasing the volume of water pumped. A more efficient solar-powered system will reduce reliance on expensive diesel generators, lowering operating costs and freeing up funds that can be reinvested into maintenance, future repairs and expanding water access across the village. It will also help reduce the distance many families—particularly women and children—must travel to collect water, giving them more time for education, work and family life.

We remain optimistic about what lies ahead. Every contribution brings us closer to completing the solar upgrade and strengthening the water infrastructure that thousands of people rely on every day.
