Now to Introduce you to Constance - A hero!

Constance

Greetings! I hope you are doing well?

From my side, today's report is going to be short and sweet. 3 of my staff have Covid including myself. I am ok but I am only doing urgent and important activities. We are all at home, quarantining and fortunately not requiring anything more than rest to get through this.

Let me introduce you to Constance. She is our hero, some have met her before but others may not.

We have watched Constance change from an angry hurt person who didn't care for others or creation, to one who really does care and wants to grow and develop. It is a privilege to do this work and to see the change in people's lives.

Take care and stay well!

Blessings

Louise

My name is Constance I came from Sedan village and I have been working for KTD 196 since 2009 as a volunteer and I started as a field officer in 2011.

I am proud of who I am. I have learnt English, Computer Literacy and I have good self-confidence particularly with training because of KTD196 I am writing year 12 matriculation. I love campfire times, singing and dancing and seeing the children having fun.

I am happy because now I am a scout commissioner. I know what I am doing and I love working with kids because now they call me mom Connie and mother of the world. I am proud of my work and I am proud of being part of KTD196.

Every month through KTD196, I was going to Groblersdal and I visited Talana project, Skilpad, Manamber, and Capricorn side training people how to build their own garden, save their communities and save water. This means I am a proper permaculture trainer

Now I am a friend to animals, we rescued 2 kittens and they are growing well before I didn’t like animals, I am happy to be part of this team.

One day when I make a visit with two of my colleague to primary school. While we were busy with kids, we see other kids running from high school to primary school chased by bees, the bees started to attacked the kids all over the body by bees, he was crying until he fell down and kept quite the bees were stinging all over the body.

I tell those I was with them that I’m going to help the boy now the bees are dangerous but I feel pain that the boy is going to die. I get out from the car and go straight where the boy was, I pick him up and I put him in a flower garden.

All the bees left the boy and attacked me and sting all over me. I run calling for help until I found the door of the hall open and I get inside with one of the scouts.

My colleague drives a car to came near the door of the hall and I get inside the car, they took the kids and me to Jamila Clinic, when I was there I see the boy was come with one of the teacher, the boy was transferred to Letaba hospital immediately because he was in a bad condition, all his body was swollen.

I thank God who make me to meet with KTD 196 who helped me to re-build my life again, because before I was not having pain for someone, before I would have stayed safely and not cared about the boy. They trained with long heart until something change in me, they always speak positive things even they see that is negative they always speak change and encourage me.

Thanks Louise & Zabe

God Bless You

Constance
