Keep The Dream196 Moving forward

Dear Friends and supporters of KTD196,

We are moving forward. When I posted this project to fundraise $200,000 for KTD196 to purchase a farm we didnt have a farm in sight. Why did I put this project up, because by faith I knew we were going to find one and WE HAVE! You will see a few changes to the projects profile. For starters, because we have found a farm and negotiated the price, the target for this land has been reduced to $177,000. We have made an offer to the seller which has been accepted and now we are awaiting the banks approval of a loan in the interim. This property will immediately allow us to start having small camps for the children in the district. We have a series of out buildings which will allow for a camp kitchen and training room as well as wet weather provision (our rains come in summer and are torrential). We will actually be moving closer to the children so that will also reduce transport costs for them and for us.

This is so exciting because no longer will we have to only camp in the cold school holidays but we will have freedom to do more. Combined with this, the land is virtually not utilized so we can start farming and become self sustaining as an organization, no longer fully dependent on donors. The farm will also provide us with space and opportunity to run other projects. For example I have posted a mini project to train 8 youth in artisan skills, there is now room and work we can provide for some youth to be trained who can then go and earn their own living doing tiling, painting, woodwork, cabinetry etc.

Secondly, we have increased the number of children from 2,456 to 2,743. So far for 2014 we have increased the number of children we are impacting by 300. This is a reasonable amount because we dont advertise our work it is purely through invitation and word of mouth that people want to start our youth project and support the project by volunteering.

All of this has been made possible through our donors. That means you! I am so grateful for the support you have shown us. I know some who are receiving this email are doing so because you once donated to KD196, I am asking you to consider once again to support the work we are doing. I also want to add that on the 15th October from 0900 EST to 2359 EST is bonus day. This is where Global Giving with their partners are donating an extra 30% to recipients for donations made on that day. If you would like to give that day specifically would allow your donations value to be increased by 30%. There will be more bonus days towards the end of the year but make your money work for you and for us and prioritise these bonus days.

Nkomo Sweneni Ngopfu (Thank you so very much)

We are literally saving lives and changing lives
