As per many reports, the Indian agriculture sector was among the few industries that did not suffer a hard blow during the tumultuous pandemic year.
Agriculture has always been a significant contributor to economic development worldwide, but it is especially important in developing countries where most of the population is farming.
Agricultural education and training are crucial in ensuring that farmers have the knowledge and skills they need to produce high-quality crops and livestock, protect the environment, and improve their livelihoods.
Agricultural education and training can contribute to several key goals related to food security and economic development. For example:
Improved crop and livestock production: Farmers who receive training in best practices, such as soil and water management, integrated pest management, and animal husbandry, are more likely to produce high-quality crops and livestock that can command better prices in the market. This, in turn, can lead to increased income and food security.
Enhanced environmental sustainability: Training in sustainable agriculture practices can help farmers reduce their environmental impact by minimising the use of chemicals and promoting soil conservation. This can help preserve natural resources for future generations and mitigate the effects of climate change.
Increased innovation and entrepreneurship: Agricultural education and training can also help farmers develop new skills and ideas that can lead to developing innovative products and businesses. This can create new job opportunities and contribute to economic growth.
As we are reaching year end and we are in the process of training more than 750 students in agriculture and special trainings are given to students who have choosen agriculture courses, what are the practical ways to achieve smart and sustainable education. We encourage and invite students/youth from all the world to learn about our traditional yet modern agriculture practices.
Thank you all for your support you give until now and keep supporting..!! Together we can fight against climate change through sustainable agriculture.
