Cultivating Change: Youth-Led Farming for a Resilience

Greetings to everyone. Happy to share VOICE Trust has received the "Green Champion Award 2025" and we celebrated "World Forest Day" with 200 Children of Government Higher Secondary School, Siruganur village, Tiruchirappalli, State of Tamil Nadu, India.

VOICE Trust will implement a structured Sustainable Agriculture Training Program for rural youth:

1. Capacity Building & Training

Train youth in organic farming, integrated farming systems, and agroecology
Hands-on field demonstrations and exposure visits

2. Skill Development & Entrepreneurship

Promote agri-based enterprises (vermicomposting, nursery raising, value addition)
Provide starter kits (seeds, tools, inputs)

3. Climate-Resilient Practices

Water conservation techniques (drip irrigation, rainwater harvesting)
Crop diversification and soil health management

4. Market Linkages

Support access to local markets and farmer producer groups
Training in pricing, packaging, and digital marketing

Impact

This project will:

Train 1,500 rural youth annually
Create sustainable livelihood opportunities
Reduce migration by promoting local employment
Improve soil health and agricultural productivity
Encourage youth-led climate action in farming

Sustainability

The project builds long-term impact by equipping youth with practical skills, promoting entrepreneurship, and strengthening local agricultural systems. Trained youth will act as community resource persons, ensuring knowledge transfer and continued adoption of sustainable practices.
