Teaching Sustainable Agriculture to Youth

 Serious discussions on the Continuity of Project# 6265(Biodiverse Agri Trainings to Youth) continued because of lach of funding supports from April 2013 onwards. For, inspite of repeated appeals to Friends of Earth who contributed for the start of the project in September 2010 Open Challenge, help did not come. 

Still, following efforts continued during October - December 2013: 

1. Booking orders for Organic Manures and Bio-Pest Repellents 

2. Increasing Forest Cover in Agricultural Fields for Biodiversity Conservation.

3. Intercropping in Agricultural Fields for better Pest - Predator balance.

Happy to share that 60 kilograms of Vermi Compost(Organic Manure) and 128 litres of Panchakavya(Pest Repellent cum Growth Promotor) have been sold during January 2014. School going Youth are also coming forward to learn about Bio Inputs. Hence, model units are under preparation at the Human Resource Development Training Centre of VOICE Trust in Siruganur village and they will be managed by 20 Young School going Children.

The news that Gururaja K.S and Edwin Vijay Raymond have extended supports during December 2013 and January 2014 has encouraged us to continue Project #6265 activities. They have also assured us to invite their friends to extend supports. A special appeal is forwrded to John Benedict to continue supports like he did in 2011. Also, personal letters are being forwarded to all supporters who contributed for this project in September 2010. 

Decide to kindly send in minimum $ 50 for this project for continuing this important Ecological Agriculture activities for making available poison free food, for strengthening accesibility of nutirtive food for all living beings and for food security as well as food sovereignty through traditional food vareities for good health and long life.
