OWAYESU MONICA RESCUED FROM A FORCEFUL MARRAIGE

It is so sad when you see children suffering and the suffering continues even when they are adults. As we were enrolling children to join the vocational school, we came across a young lady Monica whose story was so sad. Monica’s uncle when we told him that Monica has been selected to be one of the beneficiaries, he just sobbed in tears and said “Thanks for saving my sister’s child, she was about to be married off to an old man who is over 50 years because my sister could not afford school fees which led Monica to drop out of school when she was 15”. This was so touching knowing that the sustainable skills for the youth came at a right time to save Monica from the forceful marriage that when we talked to her she never wanted it.

Who could have saved Monica if it was not for the generous support of our friends Come febraury 2017, Monica will be training to be a hair dresser, a course she really cherishes in. Thanks so much for saving lives of these youth and we are so grateful for the great change we are yet to see in a few months

 Future plan

  • Finish the Renovations
  • Working on the work plans
  • Setting up the training rooms
  • Fundraising more
  • Awareness campaign of the vocational center in the Districts of Wakiso, Mpigi and Mityana
  • Vocational Assessment study in the sub-county where the District is located
