On November 18, 2025, the SVPA, Congressmembers, and 47 national organizations convened at the US Capitol for a historic press conference demanding the passage of the Epstein Files Transparency Act. This event marked the first time both Senators and Representatives came together publicly in support of this bill, demonstrating unprecedented federal unity for Epstein transparency.
At the press conference, the SVPA delivered the largest organizational letter ever assembled on Epstein transparency. We brought together 48 diverse national groups, including metoo, National Women's Law Center (NWLC), National Organization for Women (NOW), UltraViolet, and Women's March. Together, we urged Congress to release the full Epstein and Maxwell records, with only narrow redactions to protect victims.
The bill passed both chambers of Congress and was signed into law by President Trump on November 19. Now, the Department of Justice must release the files within 30 days! We will remain vigilant as concerns persist that Attorney General Pam Bondi may overuse redaction authority to protect political figures, under the guise of protecting victims. The SVPA plans to monitor this process closely, ensuring that only legitimate redactions are applied. Survivors and the American public deserve the transparency and accountability we have long been denied.
