Though our children live in a small, rather remote corner of Africa, they are by no means isolated. It has been a continuous goal for them to exposed to the larger world of which they are citizens. Many of our kids have had the privilege through people like you to travel to many countries. In addition, New Hope Centre participates in a program that helps to bring the world to us.
Recently we hosted a group of high school teenagers who were travelling in Africa with four of their teachers from France. They spent their time with our Abraham family exchanging cultural values, games, dances and music. One day they prepared a French lunch for everyone that we shared together.
This program is a wonderful cultural and friendship exchange. The teachers and tour guides report that students find this interaction with real kids from diverse cultures to be the highlight of their school tour. This kind of encounter among international students can bridge the gaps that so often exist in knowledge and understanding. It can foster improved relationships among countries and people for a better future around the globe.
We want to thank all of you who love and support this project and want you to know that we are working to make a difference for the children here as wider citizens of the world.
Gratefully,
Cherry Brandstater
