The Fruit of Patience

New Hope Centre has been a work of faith from the beginning. The enormous challenges to the country of Swaziland had to be faced one child at a time. When Reverend McKinney and Dr. Hynd were given the vision of creating a haven for a few of the thousands of orphans in the country, the way forward was difficult to see. But one step at a time, one child at a time, one donation at a time it came into being. The founders believed that NHC was to be more than a shelter, but a birthing ground of hope and regrowth for the nation.

Now, thirteen years later, the fruit of faith, labor, love, community and hope is being realized. Many of those who were first taken in have now come of age and are fulfilling their destinies in their beloved country.  We would like to share a couple of their journeys with you.

Our eldest son, Caleb, is now functioning as Co-director for NHC. He has been accepted to the Caplan University online program in order to finish his college degree so that he can add to his fund of knowledge while contributing to the oversight of his beloved home.  Phillippa is presently working as receptionist at New Hope Centre and it is marvelous to have an intelligent and wise young woman fielding questions and directing issues to their proper destinations. She is also taking a course in Office Management which will finish in July this year. She previously graduated in November 2016 from Kobe International Advanced Academy.  Her eventual goal is to major in Child Psychology. In that pursuit she has applied to BIOLA University in California.  She will be applying for scholarships while practicing to take the TOEFFL and SATs she will need as an International student.  She just passed her learners license in driving school and so hopes in the next two months to get her driver’s license. She is setting goals and accomplishing them piece by piece.

Debrah has just applied to go to Morning Star University in South Carolina where she hopes to earn a Worship Arts degree.  She has had the offer of support for her education. She already has her driver’s license. Debrah has been serving as senior caregiver in the main house at NHC for our younger children for several months. Anastasia is the assistant teenage girls’ caregiver and is also in driving school along with Esther.

We know that some of you know these members of our Abraham family and follow their development. You can stand up and cheer as you see your generosity take shape in the form of growth toward ultimate destiny. Once again, you are our partners in this endeavor and we embrace your faithful giving of prayers, funds and love.

Thank you.
