Dear Friend and Supporter.
Hello, my name is Ruvi, I have been working with YSR for 2 years and am still in love with the work I do. YSR never fails to surprise me with how wonderfully connected our team & community are.
I am writing to you to express our gratitude to those who have supported our Swim Campaign thus far and to inform you about all the wonderful things we have achieved so far in 2024.
Here is a short report about our recent Swim for Good event that happened:
This is our second year holding this amazing event in many different locations around the globe. Reaching many more people than last year. We had people from Geneva, Uganda, Sri Lanka, Paris, Athens. Our biggest event was in Lesvos where we jumped into the water with 54 swimmers in order to cover the distance and we are profoundly proud of our swim students, who joined the quest, after only learning how to swim in the past couple of weeks. The event was led by swim coach Becky, Yusra Mardini and her coach Sven Spannekrebs in order to make waves for humanity
We swam 12km, the distance between Türkiye and Lesvos, in solidarity with over 13.000 people trying to cross in order to find safety and security every year! Our priority is to raise awareness about the dangerous journey that displaced people embark on daily in search for a better future. We need safe passageways now!
A big thank you to all participants of the Swim for Good in Greece and beyond. A special thank you to Yusra Mardini and Becky for helping us make this event possible and last, but not least, thank you to everyone who continues to support our misison.
We are #strongertogether
